History of  Mussoorie International School

Set in a beautiful location overlooking the pristine hills of Mussoorie, Mussoorie International School is one of the finest boarding schools in India for girls from Grade 1 to 12, spreading across an area of approximately 40 acres.

Inspired and ushered by the blessings of Gurudev Pandit Shri Ram Acharyaji, Mussoorie International School was founded in 1984. Gurudev Pandit Shri Ram Sharma Acharyaji, was an eminent philosopher, a social reformer, a visionary of the New Golden Era, and the founder of "All World Gayatri Pariwar", headquartered in Haridwar, India. With the vision to impart an integral education that was global and all comprehensive, based on a strong foundation of Indian tradition, culture and values.

History of MIS
Rooted in the belief of the all empowering "GAYATRI MANTRA", the school inculcates in every child the power of tolerance, acceptance and respect for oneself as well as others. By offering global education braced by strong foundation of Indian traditions, cultures and values, Mussoorie International School has set an example in the domain of quality education as a leading Residential School for Girls. As our girls put it – I am, and forever will be a MIStar.

At MIS, every student identifies herself as a MIStar, but at the same time her individuality shines through. The Mussoorie International School society found its first secretary in its Founder, Dr HK Rawal. The society was later graced by eminent members such as Dr Shayama Chona – a distinguished educationist who is a Padma Shree and Padma Bhushan awardee, and Mr Shantanu Prakash – a highly acclaimed education entrepreneur with many awards and accoladesunder his belt. In 2017, Mr Parmjit Gandhi joined the society as Vice President. Mr Gandhi is also associated with a number of schools including the Billabong International School, NOIDA. The Mussoorie International School society found its first secretary in its Founder, Dr HK Rawal.
