Cambridge Assessment International Education is a Cambridge University initiative for school education to provide international qualification. It has nearly a million students in over 10,000 Cambridge schools in 160 Countries.
The curriculum develops learner’s knowledge, understanding and skills for independent thinking, making judgements, recommendations and decisions. This international qualification is recognised by the world’s best universities. Mussoorie International School has been following the Cambridge Curriculum for almost 38 years.
At MIS we run International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) for grades 9 and 10 and Cambridge International Advanced Subsidiary and Advanced Level Program (AS/A Level) for grades 11 and 12.
IGCSE provides a broad study programme by drawing subjects from five different areas:
Group I : Languages
Group II: Humanities and Social Sciences
Group III: Sciences
Group IV: Mathematics
Group V: Creative and Professional
Within the curriculum there is a balanced mix of practical experience and theoretical knowledge.
With a choice of core and extended papers in most subjects, the IGCSE is suitable for students with different levels of ability.
Students will have to opt for Seven subjects. They must take two different languages from Group I, and one subject from each of the Groups II, III, IV and V. The seventh subject can be taken from any of the five subject groups. The above combination of subjects will enable the students to win ICE certificate group award. School may withdraw the subject offered in case there are less than 5 students. IGCSE is a 2 year programme and we do not encourage students to change subjects.
Examination results are given in grades as well as percentage. The results are reported on grade scale from A* to G (A*, A, B, C, D,E, F & G).The highest grade for Core subject is ‘C’ and for extended subject is A*.
Cambridge International Advanced Subsidiary and Advanced Level Program is typically for learners aged 16 to 19 years who need advanced study to prepare for university and higher education. It is a two-year course divided as AS Level (Grade 11) and A Level (Grade 12). Grades are from A* to E, with A* being the highest.
We allow our students to take up Cambridge IGCSE Examination in March Series and AS/A Level Examination in June Series.
Cambridge program helps students to discover new abilities and a wider world which helps them to develop the skills they need for life. The curriculum in each stage has aims and objectives that support students to become confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged.
Cambridge Assessment International Education helps each student to fulfil their potential and make best use of their strength and interests which help them to become a part of global community.
