The 32nd Annual Sports Day was conducted on 24th October, 2019. All the students have participated representing their respective houses. Also, it was a wonderful experience to host Dr. Jagpreet Singh, Principal PPS, Nabha & Director Sports, IPSC as the chief guest for the event.
A two-day Book Fair was conducted within the school campus on 13th and 14th October to give our students a wholesome experience of the penmanship world.
19 children from classes 6 and 7 participated in the Clean Drive Program organised by Tapkeshwar Sangeet Samaroh Samity around the Tapkeshwar temple campus and river, Dehradun and also attended a lecture by experts on Clean Ganga and the Alternative use of simple plastic on Saturday 12th October, 2019. A puppet show was organised by SPIC MACAY yesterday in the School Auditorium in which a world's renowned puppet artist MR. DADI D. PADUMJEE and his team presented a show based on the life of Mahatma Gandhi.
Mr Padumjee has been bestowed with numerous accolades including SANGEET KALA NATAK ACADEMY AWARD in 2003 and PADMASHREE in 2011. The show was a great success.
On the occasion of the 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, numerous activities took place during last few days including a puppet show based on the life of Mahatma Gandhi on 30th September, Blood Donation camp and Poster making competition on 1st October and finally the Campus cleaning movement on 2nd October.
The Swimming Gala Inter-House competition 2019 was held at MIS. The competition was divided into four divisions, Mini Sub Junior (I to V), Sub junior (VI to VIII), Junior (IX to X) and Senior (XI to XII). It was an electrifying and tough competition among the students of three houses. The house spirit was at its highest peak, which was quite visible. The students of respective houses boosted the morale of the swimmers by cheering them up.
The students performed their best at different styles i.e. Free style, Back stroke, Breast stroke and Butterfly.
Overall Gayatri House bagged first position, Laxmi House at 2nd position and Santoshi House at 3rd place.
A Village Immersion Programme was scheduled for the students of Class VI to VIII from 24th to 28th September.
After one week of preparation, #MIStars have started the two day event – MIS Model United Nations 2019. Students of grade 9 to 12 are divided into three UN councils - UNHRC, UN General Assembly and UN Security Council. They were given different topics for discussion. Each student represented as the delegate of one specific country. Here are few glimpses.
24 girls from the Middle School at #MIS undertook a #trekking event in which they climbed uphill to George Everest. The trek was approximately 6 kilometres and it was indeed a fulfilling experience for the girls. Here are few snapshots from the day!
One of our girls, Vrinda Agni recently participated in the 'Ramamurti Memorial Performing Art Competition', an Inter School event held at Hopetown Girls School, Dehradun. It was an Indian Classical String Instrument solo competition and we are glad to announce that she bagged the running Winner Trophy in the same competition.
