Class 10th is like fighting for the first rung of a student’s career ladder. The choice of stream one opts for can fast-track their way up. Therefore, it is important to make the right choice.
It often happens that students begin to lose interest in the subject after some time or decide to quit midway due to frustration. Therefore, we are here to help you make a better decision.
Here are some things to consider before choosing the right stream:

How to decide the stream?
The first step you need to take is to figure out your areas of interests and abilities. If you are good in Mathematics and calculation, possess a knack for subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology then you should opt for the science stream. If you are inclined towards accounts or business, then commerce would be a good option and if you possess interest in arts, economics, literature, politics to name a few, you can opt for the humanities stream.
Don’t go for a stream because everyone is taking it up. Following the crowd when you are not interested in the subjects will only prove to be wrong for you and will cease your growth. Think about the choice you want to make with deep introspection so that you don’t start to regret it in Class 11. Taking aptitude tests will also help you figure out your stream of interest and also which areas you would need to work upon.

SCIENCE
The science stream offers lucrative career options to students after 12th standard. It opens up the career options in Engineering and Medical sciences with major subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Mathematics, Biotechnology, and Computer Science. Anyone who wants to study Engineering, has to study Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and those who want to study Medical sciences have to choose Biology as a main subject.
Although marks play a vital role in order for you to get admission in various streams and courses, your aptitude and interests are more important. In case you haven’t scored well in Science in your board exams and are also not interested in the stream, don’t keep it as an option.
However, if you are interested in science and are willing to put in the time and effort required, then the option would deem fit. If you realize you aren’t improving despite your interest, try to figure out if there is a specific field of science that interests you and work on that path.

COMMERCE
Commerce is a very popular stream after Class 10th with the scope of Business Management, Accountancy, and Economics to name a few. Commerce is a study of trade and business which includes each and every process and activity that takes place in a commercial organization at every level.
There are various career options available when you opt for this stream – from chartered accountancy to entrepreneurship to human resource management or even market research. Consider talking to your teachers and seniors for a better understanding of what you will be asked to study in this stream.

ARTS & HUMANITIES
